Since 2009, Faulty Towers the Dining Experience has taken the opportunity whilst at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and on tour in the UK to raise money for the BBC charity Children in Need.

Each year the money is delivered personally to the BBC ...

If you see the team somewhere in the UK with the Children in Need bucket, please help us 'Show our spots and raise lots!'

BBC Children in Need 2013 - £8,989.59 raised!

Thanks to audience and cast members, we raised a whopping £8,989.59 for the 2013 appeal!

We launched into collections from our London West End residency, then continued at Edinburgh Fringe, The Lowry, Lighthouse Poole, Wales Millennium Centre, and The Birmingham REP.

BBC Children in Need Appeal 2012

Audiences around the UK were cajoled in redoubtable fashion by Basil, Sybil and Manuel to part with their pennies – and together gave £7,200 to this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.

Cast members of Faulty Towers The Dining Experience have been raising money for CiN since 2009, and each year the amount donated has risen. This year they collected from audiences in five venues in August and September:

    - B’est Restaurant ( Edinburgh Fringe)

    - Mayflower Theatre, Southampton

    - The Lowry, Salford

    - The Lighthouse, Poole

    - Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff

BBC Children in Need Appeal 2011

The cast of the international hit show Faulty Towers The Dining Experience has raised just over £3337 for this year’s BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Basil, Sybil and Manuel started collecting after their shows at the Edinburgh Festival and carried on during a month-long season in October in London’s West End. The fund-raising effort this year follows a campaign at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival to raffle a gnome, which raised £1000, and a collection in 2010 which raised over £2000.

BBC TV and Radio stations around the country have been following the show since it arrived in the UK in 2008, drawing thousands of members of the public. It is a site-specific, 'total immersion' piece of interactive comedy theatre performed in a restaurant, typically in world-class arts centres, theatres and hotels. The audience are the diners and the cast their warring waiters in a two-hour show that includes a three-course meal. It has been touring internationally since 1997.

The cast of the international hit show Faulty Towers The Dining Experience has raised just over £2008 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal.

Basil, Sybil and Manuel started collecting at the Edinburgh Festival in August and carried on until 6 November, the end of this year’s UK tour. The cash was counted under the eyes of Michael Porter, manager of R.S. Hispaniola, their London show venue.

BBC Children in Need Appeal 2009

During the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the cast of Faulty Towers the Dining Experience raffled off a Gnome ... Basil walked everywhere with the Gnome, and Sybil ensured that tickets were sold at all 40 performances of the show during the festival. Tickets were sold for £1 each, and the team managed to raise £1000.

The gnome was won by Mrs Joan Nicol of Dumferline, and was presented to her at her home by the cast.

All proceeds were delivered by hand to the BBC Manchester.  You  can see the fun that was had during the handover on our flims page.
