Our 11th year of collections kicked off on 1 August simultaneously at our London residency and at our Edinburgh Fringe run. After Edinburgh (where we raised £6,000!), we continued fundraising right up until Appeal Night on 15 November - week-in week-out in London, and at selected UK tour venues. Having raised just shy of £6,000 in Edinburgh during August, we continued fundraising after selected UK touring performances, resulting in total donations of £19,388.15!
As our entire donations to date soar over the £120,000 mark, we are forever grateful to our audiences, actors and venues for their unwavering support - this year including Radisson Blu Edwardian Bloomsbury Street, Intercontinental Edinburgh The George, Hadley Park House Telford, The Athenaeum Bury, Villiers Hotel Buckingham and Ardington Hotel Worthing.
Keep your eyes out for 2020 announcements...

Once again our fundraising bucket did the rounds after every show at Edinburgh Fringe in August, and after every show at Amba Hotel Charing Cross in London between August and November, and at selected venues on our UK tour over the same period: Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, The Lowry in Salford, and Nottingham Theatre Royal. So we're sending special thanks to everyone who contributed to our massive total of... £13,762.75!!!
We'd like to say a huge thank you to our generous audiences who this year donated £11,061.71 for BBC Children in Need. With Basil, Sybil and Manuel rattling tins at Edinburgh Fringe, Amba Hotel Charing Cross, Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff and The Lowry in Salford, how could they resist! Thank you all once again ;-)

The only way is up! Fundraising efforts this year raised more than any year since we started collecting: thanks to audiences and cast members, we’ve paid in a fabulous £11,263.17.
This year’s campaign collected at B’est Restaurant during Edinburgh Fringe, The Lowry in Salford, Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre, Birmingham REP, Brighton Thistle Hotel and our ongoing London West End residency at Amba Hotel Charing Cross. Thank you all from all of us!
Thanks to audience and cast members, we raised a whopping £8,989.59 for the 2013 appeal!
We launched into collections from our London West End residency, then continued at Edinburgh Fringe, The Lowry, Lighthouse Poole, Wales Millennium Centre, and The Birmingham REP.
Audiences around the UK were cajoled in redoubtable fashion by Basil, Sybil and Manuel to part with their pennies – and together gave £7,200 to this year’s BBC Children in Need appeal.
This year they collected from audiences in five venues in August and September:
- B’est Restaurant (Edinburgh Fringe)
- Mayflower Theatre, Southampton
- The Lowry, Salford
- The Lighthouse, Poole
- Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
This year the cast has raised just over £3337 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
Basil, Sybil and Manuel started collecting after their shows at the Edinburgh Festival and carried on during a month-long season in October in London’s West End.
The cast of the international hit show Faulty Towers The Dining Experience has raised just over £2008 for the BBC Children in Need Appeal.
Basil, Sybil and Manuel started collecting at the Edinburgh Festival in August and carried on until 6 November, the end of this year’s UK tour. The cash was counted under the eyes of Michael Porter, manager of R.S. Hispaniola, their London show venue.
During the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the cast raffled off a Gnome. Basil walked everywhere with the Gnome, and Sybil ensured that tickets were sold at all 40 festival performances. The winner was Mrs Joan Nicol of Dumferline, and the gnome was presented to her at her home.
The team raised £1000 and the proceeds were delivered to BBC Manchester. Watch the fun they had during the handover on our flims page.
